Payday 3 developer, Starbreeze Studios, reveals the progress of its efforts to improve the heist shooter.
Payday 3 is a cooperative first-person shooter that was developed by Starbreeze Studios and published by Deep Silver. The game, Payday 3, is also the sequel to Payday 2 the second instalment to the game, however, the third installment to the Payday series was not received well by fans and in fact, it was rated rather poorly. Swedish developer, Starbreeze Studios, took this in stride and has made it their mission to address the complaints of fans as stated in a recent blog post.
Facing a large amount of criticism since its launch last year in September, among its many issues pointed out by players, such as the small amount of content it offers to players compared to its price – some critics have gone as far as to say that Payday 3 might actually be a shallow game.
In regards to these claims, Starbreeze Studios has been keeping a close ear to the ground by taking in player opinions and they’re now set on taking the right steps to address the shortcomings of Payday 3. In a recent blog post approved by Starbreeze Studios Global Brand Director Almir Listo, the studio announced the plans to put together a team of experienced developers from its communication, design, community, and production departments within the company.
With this new team of veteran developers, they will be focusing on making Payday 3 meet player needs and expectations. While still facing a bit of bad luck on Steam reviews, the company will have their work cut out for them to appease the masses. The team at Starbreeze Studios did announce that they were currently working on a plan to improve the game, however, this plan and the timeline set for when players can expect changes will be revealed to players in February.
Starbreeze Studios claims that the goal would be to take on any possible improvement one at a time instead of just reacting to opinions. This approach could have been influenced by past attempts from the developer to properly tackle issues, such as the time they fixed the matchmaking issues.
With constant attention and a drive to fix the issues and further the games development since its release, Starbreeze Studios could turn this around and surprise players with a game that meets expectations, as well as, take the top rank in the heist shooter genre.
