People were getting anxious about the silence of Paradox, but today’s blog post on Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 certainly gave everyone a sigh of relief.
When it comes to vampire games, there are not many to choose from nowadays. We saw the release of Vampyr a few years ago, but its hype and relevancy was short-lived. Out of nowhere, Paradox Interactive released an announcement, regarding the return of beloved Vampire: The Masquerade. For the uninitiated, the original release was a gothic vampire game, set in the current year of the time of release. The game was praised for its in-depth gameplay and realistic approach to nightlife and vampires. The Masquerade was made in Source Engine too, so it was a great showcase of Valve’s game engine.
Fast forwarding 20 years later, Paradox Interactive decided to continue the legacy of Vampire: The Masquerade with a sequel, written from the ground up with their own engine. Called Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2, it will be the continuation of the first game while delivering the same atmosphere, albeit with more detail and grimace. It was all and all good for Paradox, as the reveal of Bloodlines 2 caused a lot of interest from players old and new, however they were quiet for a long time about it up until now. Today, Paradox Interactive released a statement of the development of the sequel, by sharing information and new in-game screenshots.
For the delay on Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2’s development, Paradox has said they have been working on it nonstop and had no time to let people know about it. Problem here is the fact that this sequel was revealed in 2019 and people did pre-order the game right away. They have been refunding the digital editions due to customers’ demand, however, if you pre-ordered the physical edition, that is not the case.
Paradox Interactive told their fans to be steady for September as they are planning to reveal more information about this upcoming release. Currently, Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 have no confirmed release date, but it’s more likely we will hear from it soon as Paradox have returned to give more updates.
