People were getting anxious about the silence of Paradox, but today’s blog post on Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2 certainly gave everyone a sigh of relief.
When it comes to vampire games, there are not many to choose from nowadays. We saw the release of Vampyr a few years ago, but its hype and relevance were short-lived. Out of nowhere, Paradox Interactive announced the return of the beloved Vampire: The Masquerade.
For the uninitiated, the original release was a gothic vampire game set in the current year at the time of release. The game was praised for its in-depth gameplay and realistic approach to nightlife and vampires. The Masquerade was made in Source Engine, too, so it was a great showcase of Valve’s game engine.
Fast-forward 20 years, and Paradox Interactive decided to continue the legacy of Vampire: The Masquerade with a sequel, written from the ground up with their own engine. Called Vampire: The Masquerade—Bloodlines 2, it will be the continuation of the first game while delivering the same atmosphere, albeit with more detail and grimace.
It was all good for Paradox, as the reveal of Bloodlines 2 caused a lot of interest from players old and new. However, they were quiet about it for a long time until now. Today, Paradox Interactive released a statement about the development of the sequel by sharing information and new in-game screenshots.
For the delay in Vampire: The Masquerade—Bloodlines 2’s development, Paradox has said they have been working on it nonstop and had no time to let people know about it. The problem is that this sequel was revealed in 2019, and people pre-ordered the game right away. They have been refunding the digital editions due to customers’ demand; however, if you pre-ordered the physical edition, that is not the case.
Paradox Interactive told their fans to be steady for September as they are planning to reveal more information about this upcoming release. Currently, Vampire: The Masquerade—Bloodlines 2 has no confirmed release date, but it’s more likely we will hear from it soon as Paradox has returned to give more updates.
