Long-awaited sequel Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals finally arrives this July.
After being originally announced in 2021 and hit with multiple delays, Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals has just revealed its release date on today’s Nintendo Indie World Showcase. Fans of the spooky, mind-bending adventure can expect to jump back into the world of Oxenfree on July 12, 2023.
New details mentioned that the game is set five years after the events of the first reality-breaking adventure on the island of Camena, protagonist Riley Poverly and her friends must face a new cult trying to open portals and bend the dimensions to their will.
The new trailer debuted on the Indie World stream also showed a new gameplay feature with a walkie-talkie that will be used to interact with the locals as well as the well-known radio used on the first entry.
After much speculation due to developer Night School Studio being bought by Netflix last year of where they would head next or go the route of exclusivity, it is refreshing to see the sequel to one of the most acclaimed indies come out on all major platforms.
Oxenfree 2: Lost Signals is set to release on PS4, PS5, Nintendo Switch, PC via Steam and mobile through the Netflix app on July 12. The first game is also available on the streaming app as OXENFREE: Netflix Edition.
