To celebrate the spooky season, Overwatch 2 is giving players a batch of free credits this week.
Oh, ’tis the season to be spooky and to celebrate all things scary, Overwatch 2 players who have logged in all week will be getting a whole slew of free credits that they can spend as they see fit. Players will be able to use these credits to purchase most of the bundles and other useful items from the in-game shop, as well as unlock Battle Passes. Players can also use these credits to grab smaller cosmetics such as sprays, voicelines, victory poses and even some of the character skins from Overwatch 1 in the Hero Gallery.
While it is the spooky season, it is also Season 7 of Overwatch 2. Sadly, this season, we won’t be getting a new hero to unlock, it does however add a whole new variety of Halloween themed content for the ghouls and gals. The most notable addition for this season is the Diablo themed crossover, Trials of Sanctuary, which has four players “fight back the darkness” in Blizzard World. This crossover will see some of the heroes in special Halloween skins, such as Moira who will be receiving a Diablo 4 Lilith skin. Along with Moira, other characters will also be receiving Diablo skins such as Inarius for Phara. We will also be seeing the addition of the new Samoa control map.
To celebrate Old Hallow’s Eve and the launch of Season 7, Overwatch 2 will be giving players who log in before 17 October 2023, over 3000 free credits to spend in the in-game shop. This was revealed on Overwatch Calvary over on Twitter, who also revealed that Gilded Hunter Sombra will also be available to purchase with these newly gifted credits in the Event Shop, along with other past Halloween skins.
It’s nice to see that Overwatch 2 is giving back to the community who have been keeping the game alive. This isn’t the first time something like this has happened as the game did something similar for last year’s holiday event where players had a chance to snag Bastion’s Gingerbread skin.
