Nintendo collaborated with Line, Japan’s most popular mobile texting program, to create the game. It debuted on July 10th, 2019, a little more than two years ago. It was only two years ago when it was originally released.
Dr. Mario World, a mobile version of the firm’s extremely successful Dr. Mario NES game, will be discontinued on November 1st, according to the company. Though Nintendo’s Mario Kart and Pokemon brands have become popular mobile spinoffs, it appears that another product has not fared as well. Starting tomorrow, July 29th, sales of “diamonds” used to buy extra time, medicines, and power-ups will be discontinued.
Dr. Mario World is a Tetris-style game in which you use tablets to zap viruses of the same color, just like the official version. However, unlike the original, everything goes upward, making it easier to move items around on a mobile screen with one hand. There is also a multiplayer feature in the mobile game, so you may play with your pals. In early 2020, Nintendo released Mario Kart Tour, a mobile game featuring multiplayer functionality. That game is said to have been downloaded 200 million times and earned the firm a lot of money. Fire Emblem Heroes, however, is by far the company’s most profitable mobile game, with an estimated $656 million in revenue as of February 2020.
Nintendo didn’t specify why Dr. Mario World was shut down, but according to a SensorTower analysis from early 2020, it wasn’t doing well compared to other games immediately after its debut.
