OCTOPATH Series is now playable on every console and also on Xbox Game Pass.
The OCTOPATH TRAVELER series is a role-playing game series that mixes classic pixel art with three-dimensional computer-generated images (HD-2D graphics). Initially launched in 2018, the first installment emphasized the unusual HD-2D art style. The sequel, OCTOPATH TRAVELER II was released in 2023 and saw a significant improvement over its predecessor in terms of both gameplay and the quality of the HD-2D visuals used throughout. As of June 2023, the series has achieved 4 million sales and downloads globally.
Square Enix has brought the award-winning RPG series OCTOPATH TRAVLER to every current console and PC platform with the announcement that PlayStation 5 and PlayStation 4 players can now purchase the game, and Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One users can now play the sequel for the first time. Additionally, Square Enix has announced that starting today, Xbox Game Pass and PC Game Pass customers will be able to access both games, allowing players to complete the OCTOPATH experience.
The distinctive HD-2D art style, which became famous with the 2018 release of OCTOPATH TRAVELER, features stunning blends of 2D character designs in magnificent 3D environments. The series has sold over four million copies globally since its inception. Each game stands on its own, taking place on a different planet, and featuring eight unique heroes with their backstories and arsenal of Path Actions. The player takes control of a character they control in-game and guides them on a huge quest.
Team Asano has launched a free update to OCTOPATH TRAVELER II to reflect on the series’ availability on all current consoles and PCs. The update includes ‘Extra Battle’ mode, which can be unlocked after beating the last boss in the final chapter. Players can put their fighting abilities to the test in the “Extra Battle” mode against newly added challenging foes, including OCTOPATH TRAVELER’s protagonists. This mode has been added to the PC edition today via an update, and it was available on Xbox consoles from launch, and now it is also available on PS4, Nintendo Switch, and PS5, though.
You can get your hands on both the games on any current console and PC. You can also buy them separately or in a bundle. And if you’re a PS Plus subscriber, you can save 34% if you buy it before June 20, 2024.
