Bungie and Geoff Keighley declare that Destiny 2’s next development will receive an ‘exclusive’ new look in only a couple of days.
In June, Bungie revealed Destiny 2: Beyond Light, the game’s 2021 and 2022 expansions, and the new Destiny Content Vault — commonly called the DCV. In a blog post on Thursday, Bungie revealed everything that players will lose access to when Beyond Light is released on November 10.
Host Geoff Keighley announced on Twitter that ONL will boast an exclusive new glimpse at the expansion. The official Destiny 2 Twitter offered a slight clue, retweeting Keighley’s post with the following message: “Embrace the darkness. Tune in for a deeper look at Stasis.” Stasis is one of the most significant changes coming to Destiny 2 with Beyond Light.
This new form of power will finally introduce the long-rumored Darkness-powered subclasses, along with a new element type besides Arc, Solar, and Void. The ice-based abilities that have been shown off so far look like they could very well be the significant tweak to Destiny 2’s gameplay for which fans have been waiting a long time. The main genuine details that are known so far are that it will take players to the frosty tundra of Europa and set up the bigger story that Destiny 2’s future extensions will proceed throughout the following few years.
It’s safe to state, however, that with players set to become more ensnared with the Darkness, Destiny’s story is developing into something that could change the franchise forever. It’s not all good news, however, as it’s been confirmed that plenty of content will be removed from Destiny 2 to make way for all of the new stuff coming soon.
Here’s hoping that those who are disappointed by this find something worthwhile to make up for it when the expansion finally arrives. Destiny 2 is available for PC, PS4, Stadia, and Xbox One, with PS5 and Xbox Series X versions in development. The Beyond Light expansion will launch on November 100.
