Newly founded Polish studio Far From Home announced its debut title ‘Project Oxygen’ scheduled to hit Xbox Series X, PC, and Playstation 5.
A new studio Far From Home, based in Poland, announced its presence today. The team of Far From Home consists of developers that have worked on games such as Divinity Original Sin 1 and 2, The Medium, Cheronobylite, Dying Light 2, Dying Light, and Dead Island. So it could be worth paying attention to the studio’s debut game which is currently going by the name Project Oxygen.
The idea for Project Oxygen came about before the coronavirus brought the world to its knees, and now the pandemic has only substantiated the chilling worry that we might not be prepared for an even more imminent global threat. There is not too much known about Project Oxygen, though Far From Home did reveal some details. Players will play as a lone scientist, exploring an ecologically evolved and ruined Earth after mankind failed to fight off their own demise. The game will be set in a first-person perspective to allow for deeper immersion in this unique world. It is built around a strong survival game loop that will require players to regularly venture into the dangerous unknown.
Success, exploration, and survival will be strongly tied to each player’s technologically advanced zeppelin airbase that they will be able to customize, upgrade, and pilot. This zeppelin will be the player’s main lifeline and refuge against the inhospitable world raging below and around them. A mobile airbase that will act as their everything- escape, research laboratory, shelter, life support, transport, and storage.
A co-op feature will be added eventually though Project Oxygen will begin life as a single-player game. As the studio is new it will be some time before Project Oxygen is ready to be released, but if you are survival game fan then Project Oxygen could be worth keeping an eye out for. Project Oxygen has been confirmed for PS5, Xbox Series X, and PC.
