The upcoming Dead Space remake could feature a new alternative ending, a notable difference not found in the original.
It seems that the remake of Visceral Games’ survival horror title, Deadspace, will have something new in store for longtime fans of the game. Thanks to the game’s trophy list which was recently leaked, it appears that the remake will feature a new alternate ending that wasn’t in the 2008 original.
According to this trophy list, players will have the option to seek out a new alternative ending titled “Reunion.” Along with the title for the new ending, we also get a description that says, “See the alternative ending on any difficulty mode.” As to what will happen in this new ending, we cannot say as the trophy list doesn’t give us much more information to go on.
The leaked trophy list is also a nice addition that helps modernize the horror classic, as trophies are a standard feature of most modern video game titles. The trophy list is but one of many leaks that have come out for the Dead Space remake. Other leaks include around 2 hours of leaked gameplay footage of the game’s campaign that appeared online earlier this month. With the game’s release date, 27 January 2023, drawing closer and closer, all these leaks must be keeping fans on their toes and for good reason.
The Dead Space remake has been described by its own developers as being terrifying, meaning that fans of the series can expect that the developers have gone above and beyond to ensure that they do the horror title justice. Dead Space rose to popularity thanks to its unique mix of survival horror and its sci-fi space station setting, which saw players face off against the mutated horrors found within it. While there have been attempts to make something similar to Dead Space, such as the recently released Striking Distance Studios’ Callisto Protocol. However, none have been able to truly capture the horror of Dead Space.
Dead Space launches on 27 January 2023 for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S
