More The Last of Us Part 1 fixes for the Survivors on PC.
The Last of Us has seemingly been in the news nonstop with the new HBO show wrapping up season one and doing great numbers. Following that, we have also had the announcement of another season of the show that will follow the second game. Predicting all this hype around the Last of Us world, Naughty Dog dropped a brand new current-gen makeover of The Last of Us Part One. Seemly, just like they did with the Uncharted Legacy of Thieves PlayStation 5 release when the Uncharted Film came out in 2022.
The new PlayStation 5 version of The Last of Us Part 1 came out on September 2nd, 2022 and a PC version was announced and then delayed until March 28th 2023. The PlayStation 5 edition seemed to come out with little to no issues and had good reception.
But when The Last of Us Part 1 came out on PC things didn’t go smoothly. We saw an almost Cyberpunk 2077 release of glitches and bugs. Like Cyberpunk 2077, we are seeing fans online angered at this, but we are also seeing some hilarious pictures and memes of the bugs.
Some bugs kept the player from even playing The Last of Us Part 1 and others had the characters dripping wet in cutscenes all the time, floating in the air, large eyebrows and plenty of audio issues to make your ears scream. Overall it was unable to function well and have the same frame rate and quality promised.
Possibly it might have been best to delay the release as it seemed timed with the show coming out. This unfortunate issue with major bugs on release is more and more common with big games coming out as Star Wars Jedi Survivor launched on PC with a large amount of bugs. It seems to be a push and pull issue as if a game is delayed gamers complain and if it comes out on time buggy, that makes people mad as well.
But, as of the time of this article there have been eleven The Last of Us Part 1 patches for the PC release. It seems the team has gotten the game in decent shape after a few months of issues.. so the large eyebrows and floating Ellie’s will have to be retired for the time being unfortunately.
