NetherRealm Studios released a new update with a catch for Mortal Kombat 1, which fans may not be too happy with.
Mortal Kombat is a well-known gaming franchise Developed by NetherRealm Studios, Shiver Entrainment, QLOC, and Saber Interactive Inc. A game known for its action, adventure, story and character development, and fighting, Mortal Kombat has seen many stages of gameplay starting back in 1992 with the original arcade games spawning decades of improvement and development down to the present day with Mortal Kombat 1.
Mortal Kombat 1 is a really well-received and anticipated game in the franchise, along with the twelfth main installment to the Mortal Kombat universe. It has gone through so much change, such as leaping through hoops to keep things fresh, though this comes with the territory of changing the story and world of Mortal Kombat. While it was received with open arms, the game still houses some bugs and glitches, leaving fans hoping for a few fixes to glitches such as the ‘player one advantage’.
Many consider this bug to be game-breaking, giving the first player an unfair advantage, this also means that gamers on the player two slots will have issues with the combos not quite working alongside other glitches and bugs in the game that draw away from the overall coop experience of the game. NetherRealm responded to these issues with a new patch to fix them, but it came with a slight drawback for some gamers.
Mortal Kombat 1’s latest patch was released for Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. However, there’s currently no news on the same patch for the Nintendo Switch, which caused some backlash from the gaming communities. This is due to the Switch suffering from performance issues along with the original bugs.
It comes as little to no surprise that NetherRealm Studios has not provided any hits at an update for the Switch version. However, the good news is that with this latest patch, the player one advantage issue is addressed, and a lot of character-specific adjustments have also been introduced within this patch, which will definitely influence the balance of the game for players… Hopefully, in a good way.
Overall, the series has been around for many years and will remain for many more, fans of the Mortal Kombat franchise are expecting more patches and updates for the game to delve into many possible paths and the possibility of new characters joining the fray. For now, we can only imagine how much further this franchise will go.
