PC Players are complaining that Mortal Kombat 1 crashes so frequently, the game’s crash logs are taking up huge amounts of space on their hard drives.
As with every modern AAA game, bugs are bound to happen, these games take millions to make and are given strict deadlines, so it only makes sense that they would release a little rough around the edges. Such was the case with Mortal Kombat 1, which still has a nasty habit of crashing… A lot. So much so that players on PC have noticed that the game’s crash logs have started taking up a huge amount of space on their PC’s hard drive.
Mortal Kombat 1 was released back in September and soon became a critical success that received high praise from both gamers and critics alike. As of writing, the game is sitting with a Metacritic Score of 82, this is only for the PC version of the game but the score for console versions is rated higher. Many praised the game for its incredibly fluid gameplay as well as absolutely brutal combat. However, despite how highly the game has been praised, the PC version of the game has had a major issue that has yet to be resolved and it’s one that is starting to bother players tremendously.
As mentioned before, the game had a few issues on launch, one of the major issues for the PC version of the game was crashing, the game crashes so frequently that gamers are reporting that the crash logs for Mortal Kombat 1 are taking up roughly 1GB of space after each crash. We first learned of this issue thanks to Twitter user, X-Azeez, who shared a series of screenshots from someone known as LouRagou, who had originally brought up this issue on Steam over a month ago.
While not all crash reports take up 1GB of space, the smaller reports are also slowly accumulating in size. Now this may not seem like a major issue, but it can cause issues for players, whose PCs don’t have a lot of spare storage. X-Azeez’s screenshots show over 41.6GB worth of crash reports.
While this is a major issue, it is sadly not the only issue that players are encountering with Mortal Kombat 1, as many players on PS5 have also reported that Mortal Kombat 1 is not registering inputs correctly. With both of these issues being very platform specific, many are waiting for the developers to resolve these issues, which hopefully won’t take too long as they seem to have a decent track record with resolving issues.
