Players can enjoy some Mortal Kombat 1 fighting action as early as next week. But it might be easier said than done.
Mortal Kombat 1 has taken the gaming world by a huge surprise with an announcement from last month by NetherRealm Studios, as well as co-creator, Ed Book, as it becomes the twelfth main edition to the franchise and in a form of a reboot. We have just gotten the release of fighting game nemesis, Street Fighter 6, and it’s about time Mortal Kombat 1 makes some sort of statement to divert the attention away for a minute.
Given that Mortal Kombat 11 was a huge success, it’s no surprise that if you were to pre-order the game from your platform’s respective store, you will be able to play the beta. But that’ll be all the way until August, and it’s fair to say that you don’t want to wait that long to play such an anticipated game. And seeing as you want to play Mortal Kombat 1 sooner rather than later. Well, you can, but it’s a little more complicated. And I’ll explain why in a minute.
There will be a Mortal Kombat 1 stress test commencing between June 23-26 2023. This is mainly to stress their online services and identify any potential problems as preparation for the release date. To remove any confusion, this is not a beta, it’s simply a stress test. Now, on to the complicated part.
Here’s the deal – the invitation is limited and you need to be selected to enter via email on Wednesday 21, 2023, in which you’ll be given a code if you’re lucky to be selected. Also, this test is only for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S users – sadly, PC and Nintendo Switch users will miss out. Furthermore, you must have a Warner Bros. Game account to participate. Lastly, the test will be available in regions: Europe, Brazil, North and Latin America. You can sign up for the Mortal Kombat 1 online stress test if you have a Warner Bros game account.
The beta times are as follows:
- Friday June 23 – 11am EDT/ 10am CDT/ 8am PDT – Monday June 23, 11am EDT/ 10am CDT/ 8am PDT.
