Turning your basic pistol into a semi-automatic machine gun sounds a bit odd, but Modern Warfare III will make it less awkward.
As we get closer to Moder Warfare III’s release date, Sledgehammer Games is sharing more information about their latest changes, related to the title. In their latest video on YouTube, they explain the returning Gunsmith’s ability, which will certainly add more personality to guns. This mechanic existed back in Modern Warfare 2, however, this time around, it is more in-depth and somewhat more “accurate” with the design of the weapons.
In case you did not know, letting developers handle the weapon designs always tends to steer in another direction. Titles like Destiny and Battlefield included weapon customization that absolutely changed how the weapon looked and made it pretty much obsolete if the modification was applied to it in real life. In terms of Modern Warfare III, these new additions are called Aftermarket Parts and they will completely change how a gun shoots, reloads, and even how it feels. They are approaching the matter as same as other titles, however, they prioritize fun and experimenting instead of just creating a weapon that nobody would ever touch.
In the video, a pistol with a high rate of fire is turned into a light machine gun, and a seriously punching heavy machine gun is turned into a compact rifle with a bullpup configuration. These sure make no sense in the real world, but turning back to a weapon that someone used and modifying it in an odd way might just work out. Most of the community feedback about the Aftermarket Parts is just that it is going to be a reasonable addition or a complete wreck of a showcase on how to ruin guns.
Starbreeze adds further information about the Aftermarket Parts, such as more compatible parts between different weapons, and unlocking the part once will allow you to use it on any weapon that is suitable. Let it be a scope, stock, grip, or magazine. Keep in mind that these “Conversion Kits”, the kits that allow you to change the style of the weapon, will be only available once you master the weapon and fully level it up. So no funny and experimental business until you truly get to know your gun. The next information drop about Modern Warfare III will be available on the 5th of October, a day later, pre-downloads will start for PlayStation owners.
Modern Warfare III will be available for PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox X|S Series, and Xbox One on the 10th of October.
