The first developer diary video for the forthcoming tennis simulator Matchpoint – Tennis Championships has been released along with a playable demo at Steam Next Fest.
Publisher Kalypso Media and developer Torus Games have released their first Developer Diary, for the release of Matchpoint – Tennis Championships in Spring 2022. The first video in this series includes new information on the making of this realistic tennis simulator, including additional details on visual effects, ball physics, rally techniques, and collaboration with a former world’s number one tennis instructor. ‘a tennis game for tennis fans created by tennis players’ is the topic of discussion for Producer Kevin McIntosh and Game Designer Dave McIntosh in this episode of the podcast.
Matchpoint – Tennis Championships is a complete package for tennis lovers. Players get to introduce themselves to the world of the game has a complex career mode with a distinct merit-based ranking system. They can customize their player’s appearance, and style of play with combinations including left- or right-handed, one-handed, or two-handed forehands or backhands. Besides characters, players can customize their gears from rackets to clothes, using renowned tennis brands like Babolat, YONEX, HEAD, and others. They can unlock unique gears by winning competitive matches.
Matchpoint – Tennis Championships lets players compete against 16 real-life AI tennis players including Nick Kyrgios, Kei Nishikori, Amanda Anisimova, and more. Throughout the career mode, players can master all kinds of strokes and shots and select suitable methods for topspin, flat, lob, or slice shot. The game offers mini-games and practice sessions to develop your player’s skills. Through local sessions or internet cross-play, players can engage themselves in local or online matches to play against a competent AI or friends and foes.
Players can improve their talents by working with a personal coach. Individual training modules allow players to boost their skills and improve their deficiencies in the game. There are exhibition matches throughout the world where players need to adapt their game to grass, clay, and hard courts by studying their playing surfaces and their peculiarities. The reply mode lets players see their performance where they can identify the areas for improvement.
Anyone interested in experiencing the thrill of this brand-new title can download the demo for Windows PC during Steam Next Fest, which is a seven-day festival featuring hundreds of future titles, which is now taking place. Initially, the trial will only have two game modes – rapid play and instructional – with the full edition of the game, which is scheduled to be published in Spring 2022, also including career, training, and practice modes.
