Iconic rapper is featuring the next Street Fighter 6 showcase.
Street Fighter 6 is within just a couple of months away from its release; June 2, 2023 to be precise, and it is about time that we get more gameplay footage from either the developers, verified beta testers or well-known streamers. As we are guaranteed to get that and then some, and who better to host the event other than Grammy Award-winning hip-hop artist and founder of Young Money Entertainment, Dwayne Michael Carter Jr, also known as Lil Wayne?
Because that’s who will be the host of the next Street Fighter 6 event commencing on April 20, 2023. Lil Wayne is no stranger to the gaming community – seeing as he formed a partnership with fellow gaming developer Ubisoft back in 2019, and featuring in their Ghost Recon Breakpoint trailer.
This is a huge bombshell – you’re probably wondering why a person such as himself who has nothing to do with a fighting game, is suddenly involved in one and is hosting Street Fighter 6. Well, there is a Street Fighter 6 trailer that gives hints for the reason. He mentions that there will be more Gameplay footage, new ways to fight, and he follows by telling us that there will be “big announcements” and he assures us that “it’s about to be crazy”.
Don’t know about others, but this is more than enough incentive to make to tune in to the show for most fans. The show will run for just 30 minutes, so one could imagine how much will actually be said and done. Plus, you will need to know where to watch it and we will help you to do that. Here’s a helping hand – sure to follow ‘CapcomFighters’ Twitch and put notifications on so you don’t miss it.
The exact times are as follows:
- UK/Ireland – 11pm BST
- Asia/Oceania – 7am JST | 6am AWST | 8am AEST
- North America – 3pm PDT | 4pm MDT | 5pm CDT | 6pm EDT
- Europe – 12am CEST | 1am EEST
As mentioned, Street Fighter 6 will arrive on June 2, 2023 and will be the first instalment since Street Fighter 4 not being developed by Yoshinori Ono. The game will be on PlayStation 4 and 5, PC and Xbox Series X and S – being the first-ever edition in current-gen consoles. The launch will feature 18 characters – 6 of which are new to the franchise: Kimberly, Jamie, Marisa, Manon, Lily and JP. As of now, just like in Street Fighter 5, the iconic character and Bruce Lee inspired Fei Long, will not be in the latest instalment. But hopefully, he does make a return with a DLC.
