The release of the world’s most delayed game ever, KIEN, has finally been announced for the Game Boy Advance.
The world’s most delayed and much anticipated physical cartridge release of KIEN for the Nintendo Game Boy Advance (GBA) has been announced with great excitement by retro publisher Incube8 Games and independent production studio AgeOfGames. KIEN, an action platformer with role-playing game features, finally makes it to the public after three publishing mishaps and twenty-two years later than expected.
KIEN sets in a world where for seven thousand years, the seven Masters of the Absolute have exercised their wisdom and authority over the planet of Malkut. However, the Land of Harmony is once again engulfed in chaos as evil spreads throughout it. With the disappearance of the 7 Masters and the massacre of supernatural warriors, the temples seem destined for destruction. A glimmer of optimism is held captive in the determination and emotions of two youthful apprentices. Encountering evil, uncovering the truth, and discovering Kien’s secret are their fated missions.
With its mix of action and role-playing game mechanics, KIEN takes you to a fictional kingdom traversed by 23 challenging levels. The game’s action never slows down, plunging you headfirst into a world of chaos where you must face off against an overwhelming number of enemies. Every playthrough is a new and exciting adventure thanks to the game’s innovative non-linear structure, which lets players explore Kien’s vast universe at their own pace.
Despite being in development since the early 2000s, KIEN was never released. It was intended to be AgeofGames’ debut title, the first of many that followed. After 22 long years of anticipation, fans finally got their chance to play the game. The Standard Edition of the game is priced at $59.99 and will also contain a Sealed box, a Clear grey cartridge, a Clear black cartridge protector, an Instruction booklet, and a KIEN stickers sheet.
