Jessica Mak last published a game in 2012, when they collaborated with Sony’s Santa Monica Studio on Sound Shapes.
The game went on to become one of the PlayStation Vita’s most beloved titles, thanks in part to an unforgettable soundtrack featuring Shaw-Han Liem of I Am Robot and Proud fame, Jim Guthrie of Indie Game: The Movie, and Beck.
Mak is working on a new project with Annapurna Interactive, the publisher revealed on Thursday during its developer expo, over a decade after the release of Sound Shapes. Mak’s new project will use music as important once again. “For me, the music is just as essential as the game,” Mak added. Music will play an important role in the experience, as it did in Everyday Shooter and Sound Shapes, and Mak took a sabbatical from developing games to improve as an artist.
They went on to call the game an action-adventure journey that would presumably amaze gamers.
