Not all heroes wear capes—some steal the show with a Cajun accent and a killer one-liner. Thanks, Channing Tatum.
You know, for someone who has always gone on to say that I am not a fan of Marvel, and still do exactly that, I sure do write about its being quite often. But can you really blame me? I resisted so hard to peer pressure for much of my adolescent life, but then let Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man reel me in. And then, as soon as I got invested, everyone else started leaving. Of course, I am upset. But this is not a rant. Rather, I have compliments to offer.
Considering that the third installment of the film series did not exactly set the world ablaze, it is still fantastic to see a Deadpool & Wolverine meme going viral. Obviously, a lot of people were excited about it before it came out, and there are plenty of individuals who went to watch it and thought it was great. Nevertheless, it is quite amusing that a guest appearance, one of Channing Tatum, would be the single most popular meme that would result from a movie that was brimming with meta jokes.
This is because Channing Tatum has the extraordinary ability to completely hijack the spotlight with a fantastic one-liner. As a result of Channing Tatum’s involvement as Gambit, his sequences will be immortalized for all time to come.
Audiences were ecstatic when they saw his debut into the Marvel Universe with his seemingly authentic Cajun accent, and they were even more entertained when he set out to do what he said he would do, make a name for himself – “Whew, I’m about to make a name for myself, yeah.”
We see instances of Channing Tatum like this time and again, explaining this whole article dedicated to it. “My name is Jeff”— from his part in 2014’s 22 Jump Street—may have overtaken Borat’s “My life” as the most iconic catchphrase during the early 2000s, too. That should be proof enough that he is no stranger to this ordeal.
Channing Tatum initially received the role as Gambit back in the year of 2014, and despite his appearances in front of the big public and joining tours to promote the part, it was ultimately put on hold. However, now, it is a delight to see the guy get things handled the way it was intended previously.
Because of his charisma, charm, and excellent accent, I would love to see Channing Tatum reprise his role. Also witnessing Hugh Jackman return to the role of Wolverine was fantastic in and of itself, but I have been starting to find apathy within myself for the Deadpool franchise. That is why it was thrilling to watch an unexplored personality appear.
The constant stream of prequels, sequels, and other realities has really gotten to everyone for the past several years. It would be great if there was a fresh picture with fresh people and a fresh, decent plot; with his “Whew, I’m about to make a name for myself, yeah” flair, Channing Tatum may be the perfect choice to direct which way Marvel should be headed. And maybe, I will not have to write any more of my disappointments.
