Horizon Zero Dawn is one of the most visually striking games on the PlayStation 4. It will be launched on PC on August 7. This PC version will also include the expansion pack with some other goodies. Later this summer, the game will be heading to PC. The news is confirmed after months of rumor. Developer Guerilla Games has updated the Steam page today to give an exact date.
Formerly a Playstation 4 exclusive, the game has all the bells and whistles PC fans are looking for. The PC version of the game is coming with a raft of improvements, including improved reflections and dynamic foliage.
The final product will include several pages of graphics settings to tinker with, ultra-wide monitor support, and unlocked framerates. It will also include a proper benchmarking tool. Horizon launched as a PlayStation 4 exclusive in 2017.
It quickly earned numerous nods as one of the best games of the year and was included in the top 10 games. It tells an extraordinary post-apocalyptic story starring a young woman named Aloy, who must battle with wild mechanical creatures and journey across a forbidding landscape.
The game was a rare example of a successful new intellectual property created by a modern AAA development story and a commercial success as well. It won’t be a launch title, but it will be a game worth keeping an eye out for in 2021.
There’s no better time to give Horizon Zero Dawn a try either, as Guerrilla Games recently announced the sequel, Horizon Forbidden West, for PS5. Horizon Zero Dawn on PC will also offer expanded controller options, meaning you should be able to play the game with a Bluetooth Xbox One controller if you wish to do so.
Horizon Zero Dawn will be available for the PC on August 7, announced by Guerrilla Games on Friday. Titled Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition, it will be available on both the Epic Games Store and Valve’s Steam for $49.99.
The price may seem steep, given that the game is often discounted on PS4, but the added improvements and goodies on PC, like the FoV slider, make it a worthwhile purchase, especially for those who have never had a chance to experience the game.
