According to Bloomberg, PlayStation gamers would have to wait until 2022 to enjoy Horizon Forbidden West.
Sony had stated that the game will be released over the Christmas season. But according to the source, Sony has pushed back the release of its next big PS5 and PS4 exclusive until next year, from the current Christmas season release date of 2021.
Ghostwire: Tokyo, Bethesda’s forthcoming PlayStation 5 and PC horror game from Tango Gameworks, was also postponed until early 2022 only last week. Earlier this year, the firm announced that both Gran Turismo 7 and the next God of War game will be postponed until 2022. If Forbidden West is delayed, it won’t be the first first-party exclusive to miss its originally planned release date of 2021. Sony hinted at a possible delay last month when it published an interview with PlayStation Studios chief Hermen Hulst, which preceded today’s announcement.
At this time, it’s unclear what’s causing the delay.
