Despite all the efforts, Rockstar seems to have missed a spot while clearing every piece of evidence about GTA VI.
A few months ago, there was a big problem on Rockstar’s end, somehow, someone cracked the code to enter the database of a fairly popular game development studio, Rockstar. Of course, the first this person did was to get the files related to the next installment of the Grand Theft Auto series. We do not know what it is going to be called at this point, but it is widely known as GTA VI.
After the leak had occurred, the leaker was found to be a teenager and did the whole hacking into Rockstar’s servers for fun. However, we also believe the motive was to get new information about GTA VI as it is coming close to GTA V’s 10th anniversary. Rockstar used to make and publish games almost every year or two but it seems like their work has been halted to a dead stop. When the game in question is GTA, and people are still waiting for the new game, things might get just out of control as one would expect.
The measure to take after the leak was obviously to take them down. Rockstar did not want any of the people to know what the upcoming story, characters, settings, and everything that might yield crucial information about the title. They did what most people would do, and started copyright striking every single image and video that exists. The screenshots on the internet still exist, but it is highly likely that they too have a short life span.
Curiously, one of the people who did a deep search on the matter, InfinityBesk, still has one Twitter post available with a leaked image. Despite all of their posts about GTA VI being completely gone, one screenshot of a still-frame from the leaks remains online, untouched by the Rockstar’s sweep of copyright strikes. It makes us believe that maybe this screenshot does not belong to GTA VI at all, however, most of the surrounding areas, alongside road signs and buildings do not match GTA V’s environment, therefore it does belong to GTA VI’s early build version.
Seems like Rockstar did an oopsie and missed a spot while searching for the trails of leaked content. As for the game itself, GTA VI is believed to not arrive until 2025. It is a bold claim, but after the whole leak business that occurred, it is expected that things should get delayed even further.
