God of War: Ragnarok is delayed to 2022. The game will be available on PS4, as well as PS5. God of War: Ragnarok was set for a 2021 release on PS5 as per the tease from lst year.
PlayStation Sudios head Herman Hulst said this in an interview on their official website.
We have a lot going on right now. PlayStation Studios have more than 25 titles in development. Almost half of these are new IP. The other half, they’re titles that are set in franchises that PlayStation fans already know and love. So, it’s quite a lot.
He also said:
So we have, currently, two very big, very narrative-driven games in development: Horizon Forbidden West and the next God of War. And for both of those, they’re frankly affected by access to performance capture and talent. For Horizon, we think we are on track to release this holiday season. But that isn’t quite certain yet, and we’re working as hard as we can to confirm that to you as soon as we can.
And for God of War, the project started a little later. So we’ve made the decision to push that game out to next year, to ensure that Santa Monica Studio can deliver the amazing God of War game that we all want to play.
Santa Monica Studios Tweeted about it on their official account:
According to the interview, the delay is happening so that players can get “a top quality game”. The studio is ensuring the wellbeing of their health of their partners, families, team, and partner.
God of War: Ragnarok was set for PlayStation 5. Sony was about to solidly confirm whether it will be available on PlayStation 4 or not. According to Hulst, it sounds like it will come to that console.
