The spooky adventure from Tango Gameworks will arrive a little longer than planned.
Bethesda’s Tango Gameworks’ planned game, Ghostwire Tokyo, was supposed to come within the next few months. But the PC and PS5 game has been postponed until early 2022. Tango is based in Tokyo. Recently, the fourth state of emergency has been declared in response to an uptick in COVID-19 cases.
So according to the company, they are now being very careful. They mentioned, “committed to preserving the health of everyone at Tango”. In a CES 2021 presentation, Sony stated that Ghostwire: Tokyo will be released in October, despite the lack of a firm release date till now. The video was eventually taken down by the company and replaced with a new version that removed the release dates for numerous third-party titles. “We want to get the game in your hands as soon as possible so you can experience the unforgettable version of a haunted Tokyo that we’ve been hard at work building,” Tango, the studio behind The Evil Within, said in a tweet.
Interestingly, though Bethesda is owned by Microsoft, it’s extremely probable that Ghostwire will make its way to Xbox. Ghostwire will be a PS5 platform exclusive for a limited period. Ghostwire: Tokyo will be released in 2019 by Bethesda, and Tango hopes to show off more of the spooky adventure in the following months. We can’t avoid the fact that Ghostwire will be delayed. But here’s the silver lining. Pushing back the release date of Ghostwire to early next year may give Deathloop more room to breathe. Deathloop is also another PS5 console exclusive from fellow Bethesda studio Arkane.
Deathloop is scheduled to arrive on September 14th.
