The director for Final Fantasy XIV, Naoki Yoshida, confirms that several new features are coming to the game after Dawntrail, including new cosmetic items.
With every new update, the critically acclaimed MMORPG, Final Fantasy XIV, just gets better and better and now, players can expect even more features to be added to the game. The game’s director, Naoki Yoshida, has confirmed that several long-requested features will come after Dawntrail, including visible hats for Hrothgar and Viera. Have no fear, there is still plenty more stuff coming after the game’s upcoming expansion launches, including more inventory space and more glamor plates.
It’s always nice to see when a developer actually listens to its fan base, but that’s to be expected from Naoki Yoshida, or Yoshi-P, as he himself is an avid Final Fantasy XIV player and makes frequent visits in-game. Most recently, he celebrated the new year by paying a visit to the Chocobo server. Many players were both delighted and excited to see the director in-game and Yoshi-P fielded some questions from the Final Fantasy XIV’s player base about the game’s development. This surprise Q&A was recorded by players and was lovingly translated by the official Final Fantasy XIV Discord.
During the Q&A – Yoshida did confirm that many long-awaited features would finally be coming to the MMORPG, however, they would sadly be coming after Dawntrail has launched as the team is currently focused on the latest expansion as well as the highly anticipated graphics update. One of the upcoming features will be visible head equipment for both the Hrothgar and Viera races as well as increased inventory space, glamor plates and even more character customization options for player characters.
To some, the addition of visible headgear seems to be a bit of an underwhelming addition but this feature has been highly requested since the implementation of Male Hrothgar and Female Viera in the Shadowbringers expansion back in 2019. Sadly, for players who play as these races, due to their unique head shapes, headgear doesn’t show up on their models. As stated before, this feature will only come after the release of Dawntrail, meaning players will still need to wait awhile.
