25 years of Fallout presents us with new content for Fallout 76, Fallout Shelter and more!
The very first Fallout released in 1997, a game that was brand new, an unknown franchise, a unique post-apocalypse filled with so many unique characters. I doubt many of the developers of that game in 90’s could have possibly predicted the gaming juggernaut they helped create. As with this, it is now the series’ 25th anniversary and Bethesda has a whole month worth of goodies in store for players.
In a blog post on Bethesda’s official site they outlined various things that will be available for players. Most of the content does revolve around the multiplayer title Fallout 76 in which players can play for free from today (October 4th) until October 11th, if you haven’t explored post-apocalyptic Appalachia, maybe now is the time. This free to play week also includes Fallout 76 most recent update The Pitt. In addition to this Xbox Game Pass users can also redeem a full month of “Fallout 1st” the membership that provides tonnes of in-game bonuses in Fallout 76.
Not only this but Xbox players will get access to a dynamic theme, not to mention the return of the Invaders from Beyond Event where players have to fight off an alien invasion. This is a tonne of content and fans should check back every week this month to see what other goodies are in store.
Lastly, Bethesda have also stated that Fallout Shelter the mobile game in which players manage their own vault and personal vault dwellers is getting it’s first major update in nearly 4 years. This new update for the famed mobile title sees the addition of new weapons, decorations and dwellers as you face off against new enemies of a dangerous alien threat. There’ll be more details to show off when the update launches ‘soon’ according to the blog post.
It has been a fantastic 25 years for this franchise and I am certain that it will continue on into the future. With more content like this on the horizon, tabletop titles and even the upcoming tv series, one thing can remain certain. It’s that war… war never changes.
