Saber Interactive shares some unfortunate news about Evil Dead: The Game.
If you were a Nintendo Switch owner and were looking forward to playing the recently announced Evil Dead: The Game port, we have some rather unfortunate news. Saber Interactive, the developers behind the game have shared that unfortunately the game will not be making its way onto the Nintendo Switch. This unfortunate announcement comes only 16 months after the game had received mostly favorable reviews, meaning Nintendo Switch players will sadly not be getting a chance to play the game based on the iconic horror movie franchise.
Now, considering that the game is also a movie, it’s incredibly surprising that Evil Dead: The Game has received such high praise, especially considering how notorious tie-in games are for their general lack of quality, but it would seem that the upcoming title has broken the curse. Evil Dead: The Game is the tenth video game adaptation that the IP has received since the mid-80’s, from what we know from reviews, the game successfully blends horror survival gameplay perfectly with multiplayer co-op, and provides players with an experience that is incredibly fun and surprisingly solid.
Sadly though, a portion of gamers will not get a chance to play the game as Saber Interactive recently shared a post on their official Twitter account where they share the unfortunate news. Aside from that, it would also seem that the Florida-based studio would also no longer be adding future support for the game. The studio didn’t provide any other details, but they have reassured their current player base that they will not be shutting down Evil Dead: The Game. However, with the studio no longer actively developing the game, it does mean that they will no longer be fixing the many bugs in the game.
