As many of you may know, Take-Two had recently placed a bid of £725 Million to acquire Codemasters. But in recent developments, huge video gaming corporation Electronic Arts have officially outbid bidding rivals Take-Two in attempt to own the rights to the software company. EA have launched a bid of £1 Billion.
This was reported from BBC’s Zoe Kleinman who says “Games giant Electronic Arts is set to acquire the British video game maker Codemasters, is a deal worth an estimated $1.2bn (£1bn)”.
She also said that the chairman of Codemasters Gerhard Florin has stated that “The company would benefit from EA’s knowledge, resources and extensive global scale – both overall and specifically within the racing sector”.
This has taken the gaming world by storm and social media has gone into completely meltdown over this surprise. This indeed draws a lot of excitement amongst fans as to what plans Electronic Arts have in store for Codemasters.
