FromSoftwares Most Ambitious Game Elden Ring Will Release In February
It has been years since we faced that first FromSoftware announcement for Elden Ring. Through the tumultuous time of the pandemic many fans were simply waiting with baited breath for the opportunity to dive in to the culmination of Hidetaka Miyazaki and the rest of the development teams work on other projects over the past decade.
The concern over delays has been rife and understandable considering the situation we still find ourselves in. But have no fear- Elden Ring has gone gold. During the Taipei Game Show Yasuhiro Kitao stated this: “Please be assured, the title will be ready for sale on February 25th.” He further went on to state: “The master version has already been submitted, right now the team are working on a day one patch, to make sure everything in the game is just so.”
For some simple clarification, ‘going gold’ is a term that essentially means that the game is now ready to be printed on discs and sold at retail. Essentially, it means the game is ‘completed’ and ready for sale.
Kitao further referred to how much the game has changed post the network test late last year. He states that while many major aspects of the project such as levelling and the legacy dungeon areas are the same but that a “myriad of small changes have changed”.
The video also shows footage of the game playing in the background, allowing us to see even more of what the game has to offer including smaller dungeons to accompany the more massive (and familiar) dungeons that players can explore.
Ultimately, Elden Ring is on it’s way, which must be a huge boon for the dev team to be able to get this game out of the door. Making any game during a pandemic is difficult and all the developers should be hugely proud of the work they’ve done so far, and the work they do all the way up until February.
Elden Ring releases February 25th on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
