The parkour zombie game Dying Light 2 has done very well for itself despite its rocky beginning.
Dying Light 2 released on February 4th, 2022 to an intense response. The game faced several issues with bugs and more. Our very own review of Dying Light 2 scored the game a 3.7/5 which means it is good, but not fantastic. Techland however pushed through with various patches and continuous updates since release.
Following these updates, it was revealed that by February 28th (three weeks after release) that Dying Light 2 had hit 5 million copies sold. There have been further statements confirming that these figures have been “significantly growing” since the end of February.
The amount of bugs no doubt deterred many fans, but with Techland focused on various fixes throughout the game, it might have been enough to sway fans back into the world of Dying Light 2. Techland’s official twitter stated this:
Not only this, but the original Dying Light also surpassed 20 million copies sold since its release back in 2016. This is obviously another significant milestone for the Dying Light series. Dying Light as always has bounds of potential to push further than most games in the zombie genre. Our review stated that: “Dying Light 2 has some positive moments: parkour mechanics, horror elements, and the main one — the game is really good to show you — what it’s like — to be a monster, and how it’s hard to stay human. This is especially hard to do nowadays.”
There are many other zombie titles… but there is only one Dying Light.
