Early copies of Dying Light 2 have been spotted in the wild, and developers ask players to leave them be.
As is common in the games industry, a few retail copies of Dying Light 2 have slipped and appeared on shelves. Whilst this is good news as it means we are ever close to the release date, the Dying Light 2 developers Techland have requested that players do not jump in too early and in fact wait until the Friday release date to truly experience the game, the way it was meant to be played.
The point they’re making is that while the game releases on Friday, until then, they are still technically in development, ensuring that a day one patch is released alongside the game to fix any issues that may impair the game. This seems like a sound ask from the developers, simply requesting that players not be too excited and allow themselves to play the game proper, rather than give in to their own hype and excitement and play a game that for all intents and purposes, still isn’t quite finished.
The official Dying Light 2 twitter, wrote this:
Due to this, I would side with Techland on this one, whilst everyone should be and will be excited to play the game, it would be a better experience for all if you just waited that little bit longer.
Furthermore, if you want some extra detail on when exactly you can access your copy of Dying Light 2 check out this handy map that the official Dying Light 2 twitter posted:
With information on Dying Light 2 being in the abundance, we also know how long the game is as well as what the roadmap for the game that Techland has set is.
Overall, we are closer than ever. Dying Light 2 releases this Friday! Friday 4th February 2022, everyone should be thrilled that the game is so near, and if you haven’t picked up a pre-order, you’ve got one more chance.
