“The team has worked side by side with our community to deliver a thrilling social deduction game with PvP elements that put players in the roles of Arctic explorers on a voyage gone wrong,” said Alex Quick, Creative Director of the Dread Hunger Team. “Dread Hunger is about working together to survive while not knowing whom to trust. It’s a game that can bring out the best in players while offering the most duplicitous options for the two Thralls hidden amongst the crew to exploit. It can be exciting, frustrating, and suspenseful by turns, with the only certainty being that no two voyages will be the same.”

During the gameplay, players can pick the role of a Captain, Navigator, Hunter, Engineer, Royal Marine, or more and be equipped with a unique starting kit and abilities. To survive the Arctic by building fires to stay warm, fend off predators, and hunt for food to stay alive. In doing so, players will be forced to betray their friends even by killing them only to blame others.
Every player in Dread Hunger is responsible for bringing their selected character to life via voice chat whilst accomplishing goals. All six Explorers have to act together to acquire materials to propel the steam-powered sailing ship to its target while battling the terrible weather.
Meanwhile, Thralls scheme to poison meals, slaughter crew members, blast holes in the ship, and use black magic to derail the mission—all while posing as obedient Explorers. Hunger, wolves, cannibal assaults, and other heinous fates abound, as well as any mistaken confidence can rapidly result in getting backstabbed.
