Diablo IV players love everything covered in blood, so why not have a blood-cooled PC, right?
Blizzard is known for their wacky stunts to draw people in for goodies, though they weren’t the first to do so. Back in the 2000s, when the video game craze was just building up, game companies asked for players to do weird stunts so that players could get exclusive stuff in-game or get a special version of a regular item, like the ones we would see in collector’s editions. Nowadays, these stunts are mostly forbidden due to complicated issues regarding law and the health safety of people. However, Blizzard’s new way to draw people into Diablo IV might be just too over the top.
Recently, Blizzard started a campaign, related to donating blood. Since Diablo IV is quite a gory game and tends to have literal hell included in the story, blood is quite essential to the theming of Diablo IV. We know blood is quite a vital liquid in real life too, so Blizzard came up with a properly fitting idea. By donating blood and sending the proof to Blizzard directly, via e-mail, they add it to the Blood Fountain on their website. This website tracks the amount of blood donated and when it reaches a certain point, it will gift certain items to people who currently own Diablo IV.
The total amount to reach to top is 666 quarts, which is roughly 630 liters. That is quite a hefty amount since the regular human blood donation per person is just over half a quart. The prizes include items for the characters at every 33 percent, but upon reaching 100 percent, prizes get a bit different. All the players will be awarded a new, powerful horse and a chance to win a PC that has real blood somewhere within. Our guess is that it is going to be liquid-cooled, but we are not sure how Blizzard is going to handle liquid cooling with blood.
Although the involvement of blood is still a big curiosity, the PC that they will be giving away is quite a beefy one with an Intel Core i9 13900K, 64GB DDR5 RAM, 3TB SSD, and an NVidia GTX 4090. Keep in mind that you do not need to donate blood to enter the giveaway, once the bar reaches 100 percent, you will be able to participate in the giveaway. However, you need to be over 18 and from the US. The Blood Fountain event will end on the 20th of November, so, people still have time to donate blood and have a chance to win an allegedly blood-cooled PC.
