Diablo: Immortal heads will open beta on June 2nd, the same date as the mobile release.
The initial announcement for Diablo: Immortal in 2018 irked many fans of the beloved action RPG series. Many were anticipating the announcement of Diablo 4 and instead were greeted with Diablo: Immortal, a game that was initially meant to be exclusively on mobile devices. The infamous question, “Is this an out-of-date April Fools joke?” was asked.
Many believed that this announcement was an insult made by Blizzard to the many fans of Diablo around the world. In a blog post by Blizzard, they stated that they went “back and forth” on whether or not they should make a game specifically designed for mobile devices available on PC as well. However, they also stated that they wanted to “reach as many players as possible.” This thought process, combined with the initial outrage, no doubt sparked the development team to consider the PC release more and more throughout development.
The official Diablo: Immortal Twitter stated this:
Blizzard has also stated what controls the PC version will follow. It seems the common WASD formula will be utilized for the PC version of Diablo: Immortal to avoid “relentless left clicking.” In addition to this, the game will also feature full controller support, giving players even more options in how they wish to experience this title.
Diablo: Immortal arrives on June 2nd for both IOS, Android, and PC. Players should not miss out on the chance to experience the next title in the famed Diablo series.
