The latest chapter for Dead by Daylight, Forged in Fog, sees the introduction of a new Killer, whose new ability and lore adds something fans have been missing for a while.
Dead by Daylight has released its latest chapter, Forged in Fog. Set in the Medieval dark ages, a first for the game, and introduces its latest killer, the Knight, who has a rather unique ability. Alongside the Knight, players also get a new map, a new survivor, and new perks.
Forged in Fog also serves as the latest expansion of the game’s lore that sees a being, known as The Entity, take some of the cruelest people from various historical periods and twist them into doing its bidding. Said bidding being hunting a group of survivors who The Entity has also trapped in its realm. The Knight serves as The Entity’s latest killer and also introduces players to his rather complex moveset
As explained in a blog post, the Knight will feature the ability known as Guardia Compagnia. The ability will allow the player to use three AI-controlled guards, each having their own unique role and abilities. The Assassin who will hunt down survivors and inflict the deep wound effect upon injuring them, the Jailer who can be used to patrol areas, and finally, the Carnifex who can interact with the environment faster.
Forged in Fog also expands on the lore for the Knight by introducing a new map, The Shattered Square, a village that was reduced to ruin by the Knight and his guards. The Shattered Square also serves as a way of tying together the stories of the Knight and Vittorio Toscano, the latest survivor introduced to the character roster. Vittorio was once a Lord, but was betrayed by the Knight who tortured him. He must now face off against him in the realm of The Entity. Vittorio Toscano also comes with his own set of six perks that will help aid fellow survivors.
Many have felt that the game’s roster has been rather stale, with many of the recent Killers feeling like simple reskins of past releases that didn’t really add anything new to the game, such as the case with Albert Wesker, who was added to the game in the previous CHAPTER 25: Resident Evil: PROJECT W many felt was also broken on release. However, with the ability to control three AI companions, the Knight adds a much-needed breath of fresh air and is arguably one of Dead by Daylight’s most complex killers to date.
