With no lack of talent on the horizon, Day of the Devs showcased beautiful new upcoming games.
Founded by acclaimed indie developer Double Fine, creators of the Psychonauts series, and iam8bit, the unique video game collectible store, the Day of the Devs: The Game Awards Edition event streamed their 11th annual Showcase today. Featuring an array of deeply personal, eerie, and cozy video games made by independent developers, each indie highlights how firsthand life experiences can inspire and fuel the creativity of what might become the next big hit.
Braid was one of the games that originally paved the way for indie video games to be taken more seriously when it was first released in 2008. The original developer, Jonathan Blow, appeared to confirm a release date for the Anniversary Edition with remastered graphics, new puzzles, and developer commentary of April 30th, 2024.
One of the many brilliant endeavors in the spotlight that had previously made waves was Holstin, a stunning horror adventure in which you seamlessly switch from an isometric perspective to a third-person view to shoot the waves of enemies coming our way.
Leaving a nice surprise before the end, a new update for the highly successful roguelike shooter Vampire Survivors was announced, which includes a surprising collaboration with the Among Us game in the form of a DLC called “Emergency Meeting”.
Without further ado, here’s the full list of the video games announced at the Day of the Devs:
