The Final Fantasy XIV showcase has given us a sneak peek at all the new customization options coming to FFXIV Dawntrail.
The critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV is famed for its phenomenal questlines, character driven narratives, epic raid battles, but more importantly, it is known for its extensive customization options. In a recent FFXIV showcase, we got our first look at the new dye system coming to the game’s latest expansion, Dawntrail. This new dye system will allow players to change the color of your gear on two separate dye channels.
The Tokyo Fan Festival gave players plenty of exciting new information on Dawntrail. We got to not only see the two new classes being added to the game, the classic Beastmaster class and the exciting Pictomancer class, we also got a glimpse at the new cyberpunkesque hub city, but we also got to finally see the female Hrothgar being added to the game. Something players have long since been demanding after the implementation of the race back in 2019.
Now, if you’re a player who strives to look their best, then the most exciting new feature announced coming to the Dawntrail expansion is the brand-new dye system. Most armors in Final Fantasy XIV can only have one dye slot, but with the new expansion soon on its way, players will finally be able to add a second dye channel to their favorite armors and garbs. Sadly, as far as we know, not all pieces will be dyeable but we do know that most gear found in base game with be able to utilize this new feature.
To many, this one feature may seem insignificant, which is true but one of the reasons behind the game’s popularity is because of how easily the game allows it’s players to role-play. Thanks to these customization features, players can make their characters even more unique, whether that’s a pink haired cat man named Milkshake or pale red scaled dragon folk, the two channel dye system coming with Dawntrail is one that will definitely be appreciated by many.
