Cyberpunk 2077, The Action RPG, Will Finally Be A Native PlayStation 5 Game
Cyberpunk 2077 did not exactly release how anybody had originally anticipated. What with a litany of bugs, glitches and all around game/immersion breaking issues that ultimately detracted from a game that could have been a smash hit. This combined with the rumours of CD Projekt Red’s poor work life, CD Projekt and Cyberpunk so far have only been negatives in regards to the companies reputation.
One of the many complaints lobbied at CD Projekt was that it was clear that they were forced into releasing the game for the previous generation consoles, which is essentially where many of the problems ensued. First generation PlayStation 4’s and Xbox Ones churned at the prospect of having to operate these games. Even the final generation of those consoles would struggle, my own PlayStation 4 Pro sounded like a jet engine whenever I was playing, and then beyond that, the game barely ran. Including one moment where I had to replay a mission 4 times due to crashes and an inability to save mid-mission… painful.
CD Projekt are undoubtedly looking for a win and if the rumours from twitter account PlayStation Game Size, we may in fact see a win for the company… possibly. The twitter user wrote:
Hopefully this means that we will see something good come from CD Projekt as another poor launch of Cyberpunk 2077, a game already released would simply be another nail in an already made coffin.
If this rumour is true however, it means February is continuously getting more and more stacked. With Elden Ring going gold, confirming it’s release date for certain and Horizon Forbidden West going gold as well, we are seeing a large number of big games releasing next month.
Cyberpunk 2077 launched poorly, but that does not have to be the games legacy. EA’s Star Wars Battlefront 2 released to a rather scathing response, but ended its run with millions of new players with fun new modes and consistent improvements. Whilst Cyberpunk is not an online multiplayer game, I for one hope that the game could follow the same path, so that we could get the game that we were excited for, for all of those years.
