This coming update for Crusader Kings 3 is said to improve the AI in many different ways.
Crusader Kings 3 is a game that is under constant improvement. While the game itself manages to still be incredibly fun there are always issues to be ironed out. It has been 3 months since the release of the flavour pack Fate of Iberia and more updates have come since. However, this next update that Paradox Interactive seek to release may be one of the more important updates ever brought to Crusader Kings 3.
This next update is going to improve one of the weakest areas of Crusader Kings 3…The AI. This update was outlined on the official CK3 Dev Diary in conjunction with this tweet:
Titled ‘AI AI AI!’ this dev diary contained a great deal of information about the various improvements that the devs will integrate with this update. The update focuses primarily on the diplomatic and economic state of the AI rulers, one of the ways in which the game seeks to halt this is by introducing four new archetypes which will allow the AI to have more varied focuses whether it is about constructing buildings, waging war or consolidating an empire.
Not only this but every ruler will now embrace the idea of tyranny and depending on their personality traits they may invoke more tyrannical aspects than others. A just ruler may simply consolidate their realm by revoking titles associated with their capital, while more risky rulers may attempt to push the boundaries of tyranny a little further.
This update is a game-changer for all kinds of players involved in Crusader Kings 3 for those who seek a challenge, the new AI will actually be able to create and maintain territory instead of splintering into a dozen dukedoms, or even worse, a hundred counties. For the role-players, the amount of AI flavour actually improves character interaction and the stories conjured by revenge and alliances will be ever more prevalent following this update.
