SFB shows off their upcoming title Crow Country, which looks like a love child between Resident Evil and Final Fantasy VII.
Halloween is the perfect time to show off all your spooky projects and that’s exactly what the British developer, SFB Games, did. The studio has just given us the first look at their upcoming horror game, Crow Country, the Retro-Inspired experience offers players a unique mix of classic survival horror gameplay, as seen in original the Resident Evil games and the visual style of classic Final Fantasy VII.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with this London-based developer, they are a two-man team composed of brothers Adam and Tom Vian, you may know them previously as The Super Flash Bros., who have made iconic indie titles such as the critically acclaimed, Snipperclips and Tangle Tower, two games that also just so happen to be perfect for the spooky season.
The developer has always flirted with the horror trope but it looks like this time around, Crow Country will be their first fully fledged horror game. We first got a look at the game when one of the developers, Adam Vian, teased that they would be announcing Crow Country in Spring 2022. The developers describe the game’s visuals as a unique mix of Final Fantasy VII and the first Resident Evil game. We also got an official announcement trailer that stated the game will be “coming soon” to both PS4 and PS5, as well as PC.
As for what the game is about, it is set in the rural outskirts of Atlanta Georgia. Players will be taking the role of Mara Forest, an enigmatic woman on the hunt for a certain Edward Crow, the missing owner of the Crow Country theme park. Players must not only find Crow but also piece together why the park was shut down. If you’re a fan of indie horror, definitely keep your eyes peeled for this retro styled survival horror title.
