Toys for Bob and Activision have announced that they are revealing Crash Bandicoot: It’s About Time on 22nd June. At Summer Game Fest, they also included Stream. The teaser video doesn’t reveal much, but some of the details are already publicly known.
It looks like the Crash Bandicoot series is not getting a Kart racer or a remaster but a modern sequel. Activision promises that the official reveal will be much better than the leaks.
Activision has mentioned that the official reveal of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time will happen tomorrow at 8 a.m. PDT/4 p.m. BST. We can learn about this revelation by following a leak from the Taiwanese rating board.
Hearkens, back to the downright awful creepy marketing for the original 1996 game; the announcement tweet was accompanied by a teaser trailer. Toys for Bob, one of the co-developers of the many Skylander games, the Spyro Reignited Trilogy, and the N. Sane Trilogy, developed the Crash 4 game.
They surely know a thing or two about creating old platformers feel modern at this point. Fans are looking for a much more traditional or much prettier interpretation of the classic series. However, there’s a heavy chance that the new sequel could be a special departure from the thin platforming that the series is known for.
It’s time for Crash to make a proper return to form after the enthusiastic response from the Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled remaster and the Crash Bandicoot N. Sane Trilogy. Some can already speculate about what Crash 4 is all about, but it looks like its subtitle went ahead and spoiled that for us.
Fans and players should have clarity on Monday as developer Toys for Bob is teasing a new game.
