Call of Duty cheaters will not only get kicked from matches but also humiliated in front of everyone.
The cheater problem in every multiplayer game is getting out of hand as games go free or gain popularity as time goes on. In order to combat this whole plague, developers tend to take measures on a grand scale, such as having a reporting system, dedicated people watching and filtering demos, and much more. One different developer, Activision, has moved onto alternative routes and taken various measures when it comes to dealing with cheaters. In their last blog post, they mentioned how cheaters tend to see enemies that don’t exist.
Additionally to seeing enemies that do not exist, Ricochet, the anti-cheat team, also added a feature where the weapons of cheaters do less damage. Nowadays, they have taken the notch a bit higher with another devilish measure when it comes to cheaters. Call of Duty Twitter has posted a tweet explaining that once the cheaters are found out, they will be notified to all players in the server and kicked automatically.
Of course, this basically means publicly getting humiliated by the game itself. At least now, most of the legit players will be happy to see that troubling player being a cheater with the information of them being a cheater delivered to everyone.
During Call of Duty: Warzone’s lifespan, there have been 14 thousand bans on cheating alone. This means the game is in the high interest of cheaters who want to cause some havoc, deliberately make people upset, or ruin the reputation of Warzone. However, Call of Duty is still getting high player counts and has already gone live with its Season 5 update. This update contains a lot of additional maps, game modes, weapons, vehicles, characters, and much more.
Activision actually took a step further and made Warzone casual-friendly with streak effects, the team-based effects you can apply after killstreaks, and brought some classic characters from Modern Warfare to the roster. Along with these new contents, Activision also balanced a few game mechanics to make Warzone game mode a fair place to fight.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II Warzone Season 5 is currently live on PC, PS5, and Xbox X|S consoles.
