More that a decade later, incomplete Call of Duty game surfaces.
Call of Duty: Future Warfare?? Do any of us at all remember there being a game called that? Because if you don’t, you’re probably not alone. The reason for that is because in the year of 2024, we’re finally getting gameplay leaks from a Call of Duty title that was supposed to be released at around the year, 2012. No, this isn’t a joke, and we’re just as stunned as you are. There is a video that’s surfaced the internet, that shows what you were going to get over a decade ago.
The name is Call of Duty: Future Warfare and at the time it was in development in 2010 by previously acquired Activision developer, Neversoft. Sadly, this company no longer exists, as it was defunct on July 10, 2014. But, that doesn’t mean we don’t get to see what was done so far. This is strange as we’re now getting gameplay in 2024, and the video you see is Call of Duty: Future Warfare’s first mission.
It’s in the ‘NX1 Levels’ mode, the mission is called ‘Moonbase assault’ and it’s set on the moon. Without revealing too much, but the ten minute video is of the player taking on the role of the character named ‘Walker’ and the base is being attacked by intruders, and they need to get to the armoury for safety. If you really want to see more of this, one page you can go to is the highly reliable Call of Duty Twitter user, ‘charlieINTEL’, who retweeted another user that posted the leaked gameplay.
Moreover, when you watch the Call of Duty: Future Warfare gameplay, you’ll see that the gameplay was during the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 era, and the was on the latter platform. Unfortunately, this game was scrapped, but you could say that it was redeemed with Advanced Warfare, as that game was also set in the future.
Or perhaps, since Neversoft’s merge with Infinity Ward in 2014, they got finish the seemingly unpopular game, Infinite Warfare, but on the bright side, they got the space game they’ve always wanted. Also, think about this for a second, had this gone as planned, would we have gotten arguably one of the Call of Duty games of all time, Black Ops 2? Because if you recall, that’s when the game arrived. Who knows?
