This new title, featuring both Black Panther and Captain America, Will take us to WWII.
D23 saw a great deal of announcements film and game alike. In this midst of the torrent of various Star Wars and Marvel projects there was one that seemed to capture the imagination of fans across the world. This untitled project from Skydance New Media features 2 of the most popular characters in the Marvel pantheon with Black Panther and Captain America joining forces in this title which is set during the second world war.
A trailer was dropped which featured all kinds of subtle hints to what may be present in the game. Check out the full trailer below:
Featuring the iconic song ‘We’ll meet again’ from the equally iconic Vera Lynn, the camera pans across a snow covered Paris showing off the amazing cobbled streets and various vehicles that populated the time. The pan across the desk shows a pistol followed by a folder and hat that both carry the symbol of Hydra, no doubt the main enemy of this title. The camera then pans to Captain America’s iconic shield, which is scarred by what we can only assume are claw marks from the Black Panther.
Now one of the more interesting aspects of the title is that the tagline for the game is ‘Four Heroes. One War.” As expected most ran off with Black Panther and Captain America teaming up, but that still leaves two heroes. U.S Soldier Gabriel Jones a member of the Howling Commandos and Nanali, a leader of the Wakandan spy network. Each of these characters will be playable throughout the story at various points.
This game is from Skydance New Media, a new company under Amy Hennig the very famous creator of Uncharted over at Naughty Dog. Hennig stated at the D23 expo that: “We’re so grateful for all the enthusiasm and support we’ve received from fans, and we’re thrilled to finally unveil a first glimpse of the game during this year’s D23 Expo” she went on to further state that “Marvel has been an incredible partner throughout the creative process as we develop an original story and build an exciting new team of characters. We hope fans are intrigued by this sneak peek, and we’re excited to share more down the road.”
No release date is currently set for this Black Panther and Captain America starring title, but it could be presumed that the game will release on Next gen consoles and PC. What do you think of this new Marvel title? Are you intrigued? Comment your thoughts down below.
