A brand new teaser trailer for Baldur’s Gate 3 from Larian teases the return of a dynamic duo that has become engrained in RPG and DND culture.
Baldur’s Gate 3 is officially getting it’s release sometime in 2023. Larian’s Studios next title that has been in early access for the past couple of years has been said to consistently improve as it adds more and more refined and well polished content. Many are questioning where the game is going and what may be added to it and a new teaser has possibly highlighted a major return:
For those who are unaware the statue depicts the ranger Minsc and their famous minature-giant space hamster companion Boo. The statue was erected in the honour of these famous companions, but it may not be quite what it seems. After being struck by lightning, foliage peels away from the statue and the eyes begin to glow brightly citing a possible return in Baldur’s Gate 3.
The return of Minsc and Boo may not be as much of surprise to those in the Dungeons and Dragons sphere. The petrification and later release of Minsc were detailed in the Legends of Baldur’s Gate comic series. In addition to this, more was covered through a semi-canon source book called Minsc and Boo’s Journal of Villainy.
Overall, the character has been teased to return in Baldur’s Gate 3 numerous times alongside other fan favourite Jaheira. We will undoubtedly find out more at the Game Awards on December 8th and after that, Larian has announced another Panel From Hell which will take place on December 14th and highlight some more of the improvements and additions in the next update.
