Bags can sometimes be a magical thing. And in Backpack Hero, your bag is just as important as what magic it carries.
Bags, backpacks, and purses have become part of our everyday lives. They are often vital to our routine. In Backpack Hero, your bag is more than a simple storage container. How you organize things in your bag is extremely important. And might spell success or disaster, depending on how and where you store your things. From developer Jaspel and publisher IndieArk, comes a management game that tests basic skills many forget.
Modeled after deck-building roguelikes, your previous experience won’t really help here. There is a heavy emphasis on your bag and what it can do. Depending on their arrangement, some weapons may provide an insane amount of power. Or, if placement for weapons and their ammo is bad, one might not be so lucky with the next enemy encounter.
Certain arrangements may even boost one’s abilities and dash an enemy’s. But the enemies are privy to the same tricks that the Backpack Hero is familiar with. As the game features turn-based combat, you’ll need to plan to take a few hits if you want to win any fight.
Each run in Backpack Hero will be unique in layout, always keeping one on their toes. So be sure to remember the best way to arrange your items. Don’t forget that some of the resources gathered on runs can be used to upgrade the town. Orderia might yet be saved if the right town can be built with the right resources.
Backpack Hero is now available on Steam at a 10% discount for $15.29. As the game is in Early Access, it is currently in an “unfinished” state.
