Avowed Update 1.2.4 is all about fixing bugs and enhancing the overall gameplay experience.
Avowed is Obsidian Entertainment’s latest RPG, the studio behind other popular games in the genre, such as Fallout: New Vegas, Pillars of Eternity, and The Outer Worlds. Avowed was widely received upon release, with most reviewers complimenting its use of player choice and very interactive combat systems. Moreover, the game has also had its share of bugs as of this writing, although Obsidian has already released several patches for the game in an effort to correct them.
Obsidian Entertainment has released Update 1.2.4 for Avowed, which includes a major list of bug fixes. The studio is still hard at work on the game, not resting on its laurels after its recent launch. Patch notes for the 1.2.4 update to Avowed are live now. There’s nothing special here, but it does contain plenty of significant patches, which may help with some cases of soft-locking on specific Avowed quests.
For instance, the banner headline patch forces unkillable characters to respawn automatically if they are killed, so quest progress won’t be derailed. A common issue with Bounty Masters in Dawnshore, Shatterscarp, and Galawain’s Tusks has also been fixed, allowing players to redeem bounties even when more trophy items than expected have been obtained.

It’s generally a pretty minor update, though, and it also introduces some intriguing quality-of-life changes. Avowed companions now support players in combat “more reliably,” and autosave slots have been increased from three to five. This is merely the tip of the iceberg to the full Avowed 1.2.4 patch notes, which are posted below. With a few patches already released in the short time since the game launched, fingers crossed that Obsidian can keep up the same frequency as additional bugs emerge for players.
It will be very fascinating to see what the future holds for the game. It was recently announced that Obsidian is happy with the game’s sales and may consider expansions and sequels in the future. With the game available on Xbox Game Pass, the sales of a successful game are harder and harder to quantify from the outside, but the murmurs right now suggest players may get more Avowed in the future.
