The end of Eivor’s Story in Assassin’s Creed: Vallaha is so close to it’s end.
Ubisoft’s very own Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla released on the 10th November 2020. In the past two years, the developers have provided heaps of new content to the viking saga ranging from full scale paid dlc, to in-game events and even free additions. However, that constant flow of new content is soon coming to an end. This news was shared in an official Ubisoft blog post.
Next month, we will receive a free chapter that will conclude the lengthy story of Eivor. It has been given the name ‘The Last Chapter’ and it follows on from previous dlc’s The Wrath of the Druids and The Siege of Paris and lastly the bombastic The Dawn of Ragnarok. The final dlc is expected to be of a somewhat similar to the smaller piece of free dlc that was released recently that added Kassandra from Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey to the title. However, to access ‘The Last Chapter’ players will have to complete the following:
- Complete the Main Storyline by pledging to all territories in England
- Complete the mythical story arcs of Asgard and Jotunheim
- Upgrade your settlement to level 5 and construct the Jomsviking barracks
- Kill all targets of the order of the ancients and unveil it’s leader.
Once these tasks are done, Eivor’s final chapter will be made available, following it’s release of course. Ubisoft have confirmed other, more minor details such as the fact that players can now permanently keep Eivor’s hood up, a purely cosmetic option. In addition to this, Ubisoft revealed that it will no longer be running time-limited festival events in Ravensthorpe. Further information was added that all rewards from past festivals would be made available at merchants after the ‘The First Night of Samhain’ quest is completed.
Finally, in regards to the last and one of the more highly requested features for Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, New Game+. Sadly for many, Ubisoft have proclaimed that they will not be able to add the highly requested feature. They stated that: “Assassin’s Creed Valhalla has been built as a unique Assassin’s Creed experience, one that is very different from its predecessors in its structure, offering new ways of engaging with the world and its characters. When investigating the implementation of New Game+, we realized that the depth of the game gave us limited options to make replayability unique and rewarding”.
While we come to the end of Eivor’s story, it is not the end of Assassin’s Creed, not by a long shot. Whether it is the upcoming Assassin’s Creed: Mirage set in Baghdad which is set to release next year, or even the far future with other projects like the ambitious Assassin’s Creed: Infinity, we are set for games that are set in this beloved universe.
