LEGO’s next game crossover will be about Nintendo’s cute real-life simulator, Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
One of the oldest and best-known toy manufacturers, LEGO, has been spreading its toy branch into video games recently. Their previous projects included titles such as Overwatch, Minecraft, and Sonic, which did well enough to please the game’s fans. After getting good feedback, LEGO decided it was some other game’s turn to be included in the catalog. This time around, their next crossover title will be Nintendo’s long-running real-life simulator, Animal Crossing.
Animal Crossing has a very long history. We first saw the title being included in the library of Gamecube in 2001. Since then, it has developed itself to a more advanced and detailed simulator which people usually spend hours upon hours while playing. Animal Crossing: New Horizons, the latest installment for the Nintendo Switch, has received well from old and new fans and is still being updated today with new content. Most of the player base is loyal to its core mechanics and would love to have the merchandise of the series, fortunately, this is where the LEGO comes in.
Nintendo announced the LEGO sets of Animal Crossing: New Horizons on this official Twitter account. There is no proper list of what sort of sets are going to be provided, but we know that they will range from $14.99 to $79.99. Unlike the Overwatch sets, which included more statue-style LEGO creations, Animal Crossing: New Horizon will steer more toward what Sonic LEGO sets have. This will include sceneries, and recreation of villagers in Animal Crossing turned into custom LEGOs. Considering Animal Crossing is one of the most suitable brands for LEGO, the decision between the two companies was rightly chosen.
Currently, there is no available date for their release, however, we expect it to be soon. In fact, it might be tied to one of the upcoming updates of the title as well. All we know is that the request and hype for the sets and pieces are already at their highest before even it is revealed. Therefore we might already know that it is going to do well regardless of what Nintendo and LEGO decide to create with the characters.
