Split Light Studio have announced that they have plans to port Afterlife VR to Playstation Virtual Reality 2.
The studio behind the Afterlife VR, Split Light Studios, have announced that after the virtual reality horror title’s success on Vive and Oculus, as well as its “Very Positive” Steam rating, it will be getting a PSVR2 port.
However, Afterlife VR isn’t the Studio’s first successful venture into virtual reality. The studio is also behind titles such as Rollercoaster VR and Solar System VR, both of which currently hold a “Mostly Positive” rating on Steam. Besides creating VR games, Split Light Studio also specializes in creating VR movies, as well as 3D and 360 movies.
Originally released on 16 September 2022, the game sees the player take control of the rookie police officer Adam Bernard, who is on night patrol when he receives a mysterious call. This call changes Adam’s life forever. Players will have to venture through the Black Rose mental hospital and encounter the horrors that lurk within its walls.
With Afterlife VR being ported to PSVR2, we will see it stand with games such as Before Your Eyes and Dark Pictures: Switchback. Despite many fans looking forward to this port, there is sadly no set release date yet.
The game is well known for its robust AI that learns and adapts to the player’s actions, similar to the xenomorph in Alien: Isolation, which is rumored to have a sequel in the works, that is being developed by Creative Assembly. However, until then, Afterlife VR might be able to scratch that horror itch.
With its robust AI and haunting VR setting, Afterlife VR is shaping up to be one of the most exciting horror games of 2023. While no release date for the PSVR2 port has been given, Afterlife VR is currently available on Oculus and Vive.
